Texas budget includes $4.5 million for UT quake research

AUSTIN — The state will dedicate $4.5 million to the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology to study seismic activity under a supplemental budget bill approved by the House on Thursday.House lawmakers voted 145-1 to give final approval to the supplemental budget, which holds money to address needs in the current state budget, which ends Aug. 31.
